Need help with wastegate issues......
First issue: I noticed the dumptube had some carbon deposits so I removed the wastegate. The gasket between the manifold and the wastegate was burned through on one side. It looks like there is a slight gap even when the wastegate is fully closed. Could I have put the [I forgot the name of the part ] in backwards during the install? I haven't had problems boosting. Or did I not tighten the wastegate down tight enough?
Second issue: I run the wastegate without a vaccum source. The reason being that when I got it dyno-tuned, it would only boost to like 4 or 5 psi. When disconnected it would go to the full 6.5/7 psi. Everybody was shaking there head like, "wtf?" So we left it disconnected and left it at that. I still to this day don't understand.....

Your gasket was probably leaking the entire time, hence the lack of boost. Instead of your wastegate bleading off exhaust, your gasket was doing it
