Default Need help with VAFC Hack!!!

is -35% dumping more fuel than say -38%? or is it the other way around?

I am currently using the VAFC Hack on my freinds car with 450cc DSM injectors and have been for over a year now with out any problems until now. We changed his turbo and motor now it is acting up. Previously he had a saab t3 on a b16a which dynoed 231whp on 9lbs. We recently swapped in a gs-r motor and a sc52 and now it is runing like ****. It stumbles when accelerating lightly and the egt goes above 1500 deg Faren. The settings on his VAFC with the old setup was -33% for idle and -38% everywhere else. It still idles fine at -33% and we tried all settings from -36% to -41% all the way across all settings with no luck. Could the resistor box being wired wrong affect anything (I don't know if it is or not just asking since I'm not the one that wired it up.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

think about what you are asking. is -1 bigger than -4..............yes. just think of it as basic math

Yes. I know, but I needed it for clarification for my freind who said I was wrong and it was the other way around thanks.

BTW.....You don't have to be a smart ***.

how many psi are you boosting right now compared to last time? the same or less?
maybe there's something wrong with the timing and not the fuel?

maybe you should add those questions here instead, but to me all I see for questions is "is -35% dumping more fuel than say -38%? or is it the other way around?"... same with the other thread.

here it is again if you didn't notice it in my first post. It is a little small you might have missed it, but then again TURB did notice it.

Was boosting 10-11 psi with the saab t3. With the PT SC52 not going over 8lbs due to the flow difference. Timing is manually retarded the **** out on the dizzy itself. i tried a various of settings on the vafc and nothing is working.

try giving it more fuel, i'd run rich and diagnose from there instead of in the lean zone

I tried that. When I did that it still ran the same and then when I guess I finally went to rich it through a cell and started throwing a code 3 which I think is map. This sucks. My freind finally has a decent setup and don't have the money for hondata to get it tuned properly.

Yea...but who tunes it. I don't feel like getting a burned chip and then it not running right and then know one around me being able to tune it.

use "?" (question marks) and it helps people realize that was not just a descriptive background story.

anyways... definately check the resistor wiring... obviously if it is incorrectly wired it is probably not helping anything. http://www.homemadeturbo.com/t....html

secondly, it is definately gonna need a different tune now with the bigger sc unit over the saab weak thing. also you may not be able to push as much boost with the hack. you can only take out so much fuel to fool the map and still not go lean... its a comprimise between both (enough fuel for alot of air, and enough map voltage cut not to set off a cel).

check you timing, it should not be crazy... whats it at?

seriously I am facing this problem right now with the hack, and the solution is better fuel management. hate to say it but I am also upgrading myself from the afc to socketed ecu/uberdata.
