need help! oil spitting out of exhaust
so here's the deal i have a small exhaust leak inbetween my turbo hot mani side and the down pipe cause its missing two bolts and this morning it started smoking i pop the hood and theres oil all over my dp, block, and rad support. i have no idea how this is happening but i checked the oil and it was really low so i put a quart in and it stopped smoking after it warmed up and stopped spitting oil.. not sure whats wrong please help!!

okay so i took my charge piping off and there was tons of oil which means i have blowby. my question is now what size oil restrictor do i need for a garret 60trim t3/t4 turbo? or do i need one at all?

oops sorry i guess its journal bearing so no need for a restrictor buttt what size oil line should i use? im not sure on the size i already have

A 0.065" restrictor usually works, however a leaking turbo will usually need a rebuild. Just like poping a headgasket requires a new HG installed first...

Try the restritor and see if it clears up. Its not like poping a headgasket. From what i'm starting to understand those ring seals are not actually there to stop oil leaking. There there to stop Air and exhaust gas getting into the CHRA.

i read on Garrett's actual website that a restrictor is not needed when running a journal bearing turbo because it reguires more oil. yes i know the seals went bad on my old turbo that one is gone. i just need to know the size oil line to run.
