Default need help, need feedback! ASAP

H-T,

good morning, as you may remember i have been building a 81.5mm b16a, well after 6 months of hard work the complete long block has been finished. I am shooting for 400whp on 91oct for street usage, and 500whp on c16 for strickly track purposes, but will be daily driven and will only see the track occansionally , with ambitions of low 11's to very high 10's. with ths being said i have a question, a buddy of mine has a RS sleeved closed deck 81.5mm GSR block with 2 melted CP pistons that wants to trade his block "as is" for my b16 block, is it worth it? i need to purchase 2 new pistons, have it re-balanced, new bearings and all that jazz, how would a b16 head be on a GSR? the power level i am looking for really doesnt warrent a sleeved block but it would be nice. doing this trade will make me take several steps backwards in my project but if its worth it, i might do it. does anyone have any opinion on RS Machine's work? please give me your opinion...

thanks for your time.

personally, your engine is done and you know if there are skeletons in the closet.

getting a block as is, can be made to work. but at what cost? remember yours is done.

putting the b16 head on the gsr is fine i did it. all it does is drop the static compression .2:1+- it isnt much. the b16 has an open chamber the gsr has a closed chamber.

i think you go with what you have. you should see 10's on 500whp from a b16. i did

stick with yours....that sounds like a bad deal.....if you really want a sleeved block for piece of mind, just contact golden eagle....it will be cheaper than having to buy all the additional components for the gsr...and you still dont know if there is any unseen damage to the gsr block

If the two melted pistons scored the walls your gonna have to bore the block and end up getting 4 new one then. I would never trust a used sleeved block too.
