What to do?! Block and Piston question
guys, i need some advice....
ive got a b16 block with a headguard and is bored out 40 over (to almost a 2.0liter)....
i plan to run 10psi of boost and wanted to go with 9:1 compression aftermarket pistons.... only prob is that at that bore they need to be custom made and im looking at $600 for the set....
i have a strict budget, and that price is way too much, i need to stay in the $400 price range...
should i just make the extra effort and get the pistons? or just trade the block for a stock block and get some off the shelf JE's or something?
while im this far into it and have the motor this far apart, i need to make the best decision now, keeping in mind that i didnt win the lottery...
what should i do?

Trade your block for a stock bore bottom end.
Your b16 block that is bored out 40 over wont last too long. the block guard isn't going to help you that much at all.
Other option is to sleeve the block out. Send the block to Golden Eagle and have them install iron ductile sleeves to whatever bore you want.
