need help finding right turbo rod
not really familar with rods, will be sleeving 84mm eagle hd by summer's end, was thinking about eagle h beams, feedback...? will be seeing alot of boost, (500hp+) other suggestion would be helpful.

i'm looking at carrillo and the thing is nearly 3x the price, is it just that much better? also what is the difference between the a beam and h beam?

well said in link, like your style, rather do it once and do it right. $700 sounds about right, rather spend more and not regret... will look more it it. what i really want to see is some high hp dyno specs...

another question: going to an 84mm from a 81mm, woudn't things be different with b20 pistons and rods on gsr crank? or do you have to get a new cranks with different strokes to match the new specs???

THere are 3 different type of Carrillo Rods
Pro-A lightweight, mainly used for All Motor applications and low hp boosted setups.
Pro-SA(SuperA) is your middle range rod from Carrillo, I would say good for medium to high duty type use. 300-700hp.
then you have:
Pro-H rods which are mainly used for high hp turbo setups. We use them often if planning to make over 500hp. They come in either WMC or the CARR bolts. CARR bolts are used for setups that plan on taking off rod bolts and rechecking often. They dont have as much rod stretch as your basic ARP rod bolts. I would never reuse ARP rod bolts once they have been used ones and taken off the rods.
From what I've seen, Carrillo have the lightest rod out of any of the other comparable brands out there.

Sometimes with big rod bolts, such as the D16s, those have clearance problems on unsleeved blocks. with sleeved blocks, they only have clearance issues on the girdle. this is with the Eagle rods.

ok cool.I heard this from a friend who heard it from a friend...so it's one of those things.I think it was sleeved 84mm. He just said that the rods didn't clear and either the cylinders had to be shaved/knotched or the rods did.
This could be an early manufacturing issue and I just now heard about it, I have no idea. I just heard it a few days ago and was curious..

ya not 100% sure on the GSR setup, we just did 2 LS setups this week with Carrillo with no issues, but we're doing the GSR in a few days, so I'll let you know soon.
