Manley turbo tuff regardless. I've used both eagles and Manleys..Manleys are a much nicer, stronger rod. I've had friends with eagle rod horror stories on high hp motors.

people have hit 800whp on eagles with no problems. Its very rare to have a rod fail. I'm pretty sure the op isnt going over for 500whp. Go with H beam rods, either eagle or manley. Just google info about the rods, there are tons of threads out there..

If money isn't the issue then the Manley's are nice added protection. But Eagle's can also withstand a good amount of power safely. Depending on power goals, I would base it on budget.

Ok cool manleys it is. I would like to hit over 500 Hp on race gas the car is going to be more of a weekend driver than a daily.

the only reason I'm keeping my eagles in the vg is because they were free and I'm not going to make more than 150hp per cylinder.
personally eagles in Hondas bug me a bit. we've had issues at 550hp plus where the eagles stretch a bit and pound out rod bearings. this was mostly with the earlier rods but there's been a handful with their later version rods.

Eagle rods will still work for your power goals, but it will add that extra insurance by going with the Manley's if budget allows.

I've used both in numerous motors. I have a set of eagles in my vg30dett. I've used Manleys in my Honda builds.

Gringo was on eagles at 700whp for years

He had one of the revised sets of rods.
the early eagles that had the raised groove down the sides of the rods were notorious for killing rod bearings. we even had sets stretch so bad that the piston hit the combustion chamber

There's still a lot of the early sets floating around. it all depends on the shelf stock of whoever people buy from.
a few of the revised sets have had the same issues but it's far less widespread.

I beat both rods to hell and back without issue, but manleys come out of the box with more consistent measurements. For 500, either rod is fine.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm kinda new at this motor building thing. Im trying to take my time and do everything right. Any recommendations on what size turbo/ brand to get to make 500 - 800 hp, I'm not really looking to spend over 1300$
