Need help with egt temp situation
While seeing how far 3rd gear goes (posted on this in this forums also) I hit egt's of 850c.... my timing is not stock, but about 2 degrees retarded, fuel setup is vortech 12:1, msd inline pump, stock injectors ,s-afc (I have it tuned at follows)
1000rpm +1%
2000rpm +3%
3000rpm +3%
4000rpm +4%
5000rpm +5%
6000rpm +7%
7000rpm +10%
8000+rpm doesn't matter car never gets above 6800rpm cause its auto.
all this and I'm set at the stock .45bar spring in my tial, which is roughly 6.8psi
The autometer A/F I have reads rich throughout now that I put more fuel up top. But what I've read off hondata's website the stock o2 sensor only detects lean at 14.7 to 1 ratio, which means I might me still lean because the autometer is just reading the stock sensor.
Any ideas?

Re: Need help with egt temp situation (shadowdawn)
The only way to be sure you're not too lean is to get it dynoed, but I'll attempt to make a guess as to what's happening. Depending on who you talk to, and what they run, in theory any exhaust temp up to 900c is okay. Personally I think that's a little extreme for stock honda motors, and should be kept under 825-850 or so. With your stock injectors, at 6.8 psi with the 12:1 FMU, you're netting somewhere around 115-120 psi of fuel pressure....that's an awful lot to try & squeeze through your stock injectors (I've heard 80 as a good maximum number). The only way to really find out for sure (as I'm sure you know) is to go dyno your car and make sure. For safety's sake, I'd keep the boost under 4.5-5 psi until you're sure that your injectors are able to deliver the fuel that's needed under that kind of boost (I don't think they can, but I believe in miracles ;-)...).
Good luck,
Ryan P.
