Default Need help BAD, was doing a compression test and..

The adapter that comes with it is stuck in my cylinder head. Any ideas how to get it out? I bought the tester from AutoZone, it came with a gauge, hose, and then the adapter - My friend and I connected the adapter not knowing we didn't have to and it got stuck. I'm hoping we're not the only people out there that have gone through this so if anybody out there has some answers, please help!! The adapter is still threaded, but we can't get it out the same way we got it in (the hose)...

I cant picture what you mean , but I wonder if you took some fuel hose that was smaller forced it on the adapter with screw driver or needle nose and then slowly try to twist it out? Jason

I've done that...Try putting "locktite" on it then let it sit for a long time then try removing it

That happens alot it seems. You some oil or lubercate with long needle nose.
Be carfull not to rip the hose though.
Maybe next time try not to put it very tight

Can you take the gauge off the hose?

I had the same prob. Took the gauge off, slid a larger ID hose down over the smaller hose. Press down and turn on the larger hose and it should come out.

You dont need to screw the tester in that tight, just snug and you are good. This happened to me before. Here is what you do.... Spray a little wd-40 in there to loosen up the adapter. Then take i believe either a 18,19, or 20mm deep socket with 6" extension and you'll need to put pressure on the adapter while turning. Hopefully the pressure will allow the adapter to spin, thanks to the wd40 loosening things up a bit. If that fails, put a spark plug into the adapter, same thread pitch. Then use a long flathead screw driver to hold the adapter in place, then tighten the spark plug, not allowing the adapter to spin, then very quickly loosen the spark plug. Hopefully this will spin the adapter loose. Make sure you didnt damage the o-ring on the adapter, if so it will yield fucked up compression numbers. Good luck.

I took the long handle of my chanel locks (with nice thick cooshy grips on the ends) stuck it inside the opening of the adapter pushed it down real hard and slowly started turning it out as I applied as much pressure to one side as possible. It came right out.

Like needle nose pliers, except much bigger and instead of going to a point they stay flat. They also "lock" into place.
