narrowed it down, now please help!!!
OK, I just thought about this, but now that I think about it, it may not be the problem...........did YOU put the TPS on it? Is the voltage set right? When I had my TB bored out, the place took off the TPS and put it back on with allen head screws. The voltage was way off, so I loosened it and rotated it until it had the correct voltage.
i'm pretty sure i have the correct voltage...its should be .5v just sitting there. if so, thats what i have it adjusted to. how come when i hit the gas the idle goes down, but then something is telling it to go back up....only when the car is warmed up though. i beat the crap out of it and heated it up....then sprayed carb cleaner around everything and it was fine. so i don't even know anymore...and i don't have a FITV b/c its an aftermarket TB
I'll put money on it being ECU related. Check your sensor wiring and try adjusting the TB to drop the revs on idle to see if it idles all the way down. If it doesn't it's in open loop. Then you need to find the wiring problem. If not I have no idea without being there. How far is Naperville from the wisconsin border by the lake?
Aftermarket TB's are fine if you know what your doing. Calling it crap because of your own incompetence is just plain ignorant. Learn why it doesn't work right and find out how it happened before you determine something as being crap.

naperville is only about an hour past the wisconsin border. i'll try lowering the voltage all the way down on the TPS and see what happens. thanks man
If that doesn't work then take your TB off and put some Permatex on the TB gasket to seall it better and see if that helps. Sorry, all I could think of.
Your not that far from me then. I live in Kenosha, if you know where that is. I'd have to drive my G/F's car and it's not something I really want to do. If you saw it you'd understand. It needs some work, but it runs (barely).
ok, i tried adjusting the TPS and the revs didn't go down at all. it like dropped for a second and went right back to the high idle. so this means its in open loop? what now? bad o2 sensor? wiring problem?
ok today i reset the ecu and turned the car on. it was cold. i sat in the car and it idled fine for a little bit...the temp guage got to about the half way point and then all of a sudden, the car just jumped up to 1600rpm and sat there. why does it just all of a sudden jump? open loop? bad o2 sensor? what could it be?
This is just a guess, but, your O2 sensor needs to be hot to work properly, so it sounds like your O2 is not working right once it warms up......I don't know what else to tell ya. It would be nice to swap in another O2 sensor and see what happens.
