narrowed it down, now please help!!!
so i'm sure your all sick of me posting about my idle problem..but..i narrowed it down and checked everything i can think of. ok, i start the car and it'll fluctuate and finally sit at about 1200rpm...as the car warms up it idles at 1500rpm..after u beat on the car or drive it for a while it then idles at 2000rpm. its an aftermarket TB so there is no fit..and the butterfly is not leaking. it is a brand new TPS,MAP,&IACV. checked timing,connections,vacuum leaks,reset ecu. it sounds to me like its heat related..but what could it be?
look man, i apologize. i'm sorry, i am just going f&*^in insane. i've tried like every possible thing and have been with this problem for like almost a month now. and nobody has an answer...its just soooo frusterating. sorry again

the idle was fine...i had a minor boost leak so i took the throttle body off to fix it..i put it back on and now it idles like a madman.
Swap the intake manifold gasket. That is your problem... From the other posts you say you sprayed it all down with carb cleaner and found nothing. But, did you do it after the engine had been beaten on? The gasket is probably split.
see, the idle was fine before i took the TB off...and the idle only raises as the car gets hotter. the intake manifold gasket is brand new...maybe 2 months old
i had a little air coming out of the threads of my tb...so i put some teflon tape around the threads to seal it up...i put the tb back on and now the idle goes up as the temp does...cold=1200rpm
med=1500rpm
driven for a bit=2000rpm
med=1500rpm
driven for a bit=2000rpm
then theres still got to be some kind of air leaking from around the throttle body...it might just start to leak after things heat up, and the metal expands,...use some teflon paste, teflon tape tends to bunch up as you thread over it.
How are your temps? Try unhooking your battery overnight then beat on it. Take note of the temps. It sounds like either the ECU is confused when it gets warm so it open loops, or your thermo sensor is messed up. It's not in the TB or manifold if you don't have any vacuum leaks. Does it keep idling high even if you let it sit and idle for a while? If it corrects itself do a coolant flush making sure to bleed off the air in the head. If it persists change your thermo sensor. That should be it otherwise your ECU is having issues, but it isn't throwing any cel's is it? Ecu could be having grounding issue's.

temps are fine.no vacuum leaks. and i believe this actually is a brand new thermo sensor. i allready bled the coolant. no its not throwing any cells. how do u know if the ecu is having grounding issues?
the only thing i actually did different was ...i had a 65mm gasket in there with a 70mm TB..i cut that to match the new TB...but the idle only goes up when the car gets hotter.....cold/mild=1100rpm
warm=1500rpm
driven=2000rpm when its just idling, i hit the gas and the car drops down to like 900, but then something tells it to go right back to 2,000rpm.

If you take the intake pipe off the throttle body is it absurdly loud air sucking in? If so then it could be your FITV or IACV. Try it and let us know.
I went throught he idle fluctuation problem for 2 weeks. Driving my car everyday. I know how you feel.

Sounds like your TB is a piece of ****, what brand is it? I had a BBK 62mm that did the same thing...stuck all the time. After you beat on it and it sticks at a high idle, pop the hood with it running. See if you can turn the throttle rotor to close the throttle plate. If that works, then you know it's the throttle body.
its an inlinefour TB....so i don't have a Fitz...and the IACV is brand new. and i've tried closing the throttle plate and it doesn't really do anything
I would definitely look at your FITV. I totally feel for your frustration I had the same problem. All you need to do is take a piece of gasket material or sheet metal and cut it to fit between the TB and the FITV. This will keep any air from getting inside of you cooling system via you fast idle valve. Once you have done this, start your car and if it is the valve you should be sitting pretty. You really don't even need the stupid thing unless you drive in cold climate. I have been without one for almost two years since. Hope this helps.
I know why you're having that problem.......aftermarket throttle bodies are pieces of ****. I had one on my turbo civic...yes it gave me more horsepower, but I could never get the car to idle worth ****, plus it would stall all the time. FYI it was a BBK
