Default Help with Idle problems

98 Integra GSR 50k miles on it.

Well I have been having some idle problems. I thought I would try to fix them myself and I have had no success. First I did the general maintanence and the car seemed to run fine but when I come to a stop the idle bogs down to like 100rpms and then goes up to about 400-500. This seems to be a little low.

So last night I thought what the heck I should pull the IAC valve off and clean it. My friend told me to use some intake cleaner and spray it really good. After letting it dry and re-installing back in the TB the car started up as usual. Now sometimes my car dies when I slow down to a stop. Not every time. I did drive it this morning and it didnt die. Any ideas for this problem? I'm probably going to just pay someone to tell me whats wrong, but if I can fix it I would definetly try that first.

well the RPM guage drops to the bold line at 0 almost. I'm guestimating 100rpms becuase if it was 0 it would be off right? But the RPM does drop to almost 100rpms when I slow down then slowly goes up to like 500.

Have you cleaned your throttle body and the back of the throttle plate? Check your TPS (throttle position sensor voltage under full close and full open). Make sure the voltage steadily rises and falls with no big jumps.

Check your base idle it should be 800+/- 50 rpm with service check connector shorted. Also check you ignition timing that is correct.
