My weekend at fun ford.
Holy huge-*** turbo.. Does anyone remember that turbo mustang that ran up at e-town a few years back? it was at an import event.. it ran 7's letting off 2/3 the way down the track because his slicks were shuttering.. sick..

Nice pics Art. My friends went out to FF last weekend and ran in the street outlaw class, number was S/O 2424. I don't know how he did but I'll probably talk to him today.
It's not bad for a registered and street legal car to run a 1.39 60' hitting the beams with his back tires (he didn't have the wheelie bars on yet). Plus, our track is so slick...it's Idalou but we call it Slipdalou.

A couple of us like Falcongsr, DIRep972, Viren, and myself know this guy who has a 88 LX with a Precision turbo the size of my wheels and its a street car. I think its 1400whp on a freaking street car. He run low 10's at 150mph on street tires. SICK!!
there is a Fox body 5.0 here in town, in tucson with TWO T-60's on it, along with a pwoerglide. it went 9.05 @ 160mph on 10" ET streets. The new mod for this month? sold the two T-60's, and bought two T66's. Also, he drives it out to the illegals every weekend...
There is a friend of mine in the union. His father runs a single turbo setup on his camero and he does the samething on his mustang. Rod and Patrick from Precision know who I am talking about
His dad does, I think, 8.50's on a 10.5in tire. Basically its a street class car, on a street tire, running 8.50's which is just plain sick in my mind especially since last time I saw him run he was spinning tires through 3rd.
If any of you pro guys are reading this: I heard he was coming to MIR for world cup to bring the trophy back to the domestic side. The big thing is at World Cup he's allowed to run slicks. Watchout guys

The turbo on that Precision car is about the same size as the one on Turbo Roadrunner my best freinds uncle drives...... maybe you guys who pay attention to Outlaw Pro Street have seen it, White Roadrunner- Rapid Transit aka Burris Turbo car/ Sox and Martin....... hasn't been running for about a year now...... Its so strange watching these huge turbo cars stage, its like a jet warming up the spool is so long..... he too runs the additional wastegate off the charge pipe, its more or less a must when dealing with such a large turbo....... Its great watching a SB chevy 400 with that turbo exceed the HP rating of a 1500hp dyno!
DaSilva's car is BAD ***. I was around that pit often waiting for Job Jr. to tune my car.
Mikes, I thought Joe lost in the second round on Sunday?
Art, did you ever get a pic of that silver fox body spraying that did 3 wheel stands. The first one he scraped the rear bumper bad I thought he wasn't gonna make it, the second one he still scraped the rear bumper, and the third one he went up half way, dropped it and still beat the other car with a low 9 second run! That was the badest thing I saw that weekend, and that was some driving. His wife was ******* hot. She was, I guess, his sales women for the car. $35,000.00 turn key
.
Also it was nice to me you Art. It's good to put a face on some of the people you talk to on here.

Turbo Mustangs are SWEET. I've got the Mustang already... Just waiting to finish up my Honda for a while so I can start building a motor for the Stang.
I'm a car guy. Not am Import Guy, not a Domestic guy... I just like badass cars.
BB&T racing here in Memphis has a 1400 or so HP turbo car. White Mustang GT, newer body style... It's f'ing sweet to see a low 7, or an occasional 6 second run.

Maybe I'm not familiar with V8's, so I could be wrong, but those valve cover breather filters look like they will put the endyn/catch can crowd to shame since I imagine that those engines would make all sorts of internal pressure under the valve covers.

Me too !! ( I think its stupid for "XXXX" brand guys to dislike another "XXX" brand.. If a damn dodge omni can be fast, anything can...
A guy that lives in Florida ( he sucks as a person and businuss so I wouldn't us/ promote his name ) has a buick grand national that runs 7's in a street legal car. It uses a T-88 PTE turbo, and 4.5L stage2 buick V6. Its a fully stock chasis car. Its just unreal to see it run..
I dislike Ford ( most the time, but I love the new cobra ), but I love going to FF weekend, its a great show and the racers are the nicest bunch of dudes ever !! They let you get extremly close to there cars, and don't think twice about it... Gotta give a lot of love ( not gay love ) to all those Ford guys !!!

We were talking to a racer who uses a G force clutchless five speed and he was saying that they also used the wastegates in the intercooler piping in this fashion on the clutchless stick cars(G force, liberty, lenco etc)
They had a vacuum solenoid that opened the wasetgate on the line, they then would rev their motor to whatever their launch rpm was(8000+rpm) this allowed the air to vent out and the compressor wheel speed up to astonomical levels(but with no boost present as the air was being being discharged right out of the intercooler piping through the wastegate) then when they launched, the solenoid would allow the wastegate to instantly close, thus your turbo was spinning at 100000+rpms and whola, instant boost!
