I agree with civryder02, that is a pretty high compression motor but good luck

8 psi on a type-r is plenty...never mind 12!!!...I would even do 6psi if ur sticking with stock internal and stock compression...goodluck

why boost a type-r?
you going to limit the amount of power you can make because if the compression ratio.
and if you do lower the ratio you just defeat the reason you have a type-r just my.02

get a thick head gasket, lower the compression and you'll be flying.

Nice job on the Type R, but I agree with what people are saying. Build up a GSR or somthing that is better turbocharged... I would sell that Type R and make quite a bit of cash off it, but just make sure if u do decide to turbocharge that u pay special attention to the fact that if u start breaking things on a Type R the parts are gonna be A LOT more expensive... So get yourself some sweet tuning on that....

the new mazda turbo 4 cylinder is a 10:1 engine ive run a few at 15-18 psi. With proper spark and fuel managament running 15 psi on pump remium wont be difficult if you careful. More ignition advance isnt always more power. and mroe fuel isnt always gonna keep it from knocking. Take your time tunning it and youll be surpirsed how much power you can coax out of a boosted high comrpession engine.
