Default my plans....with questions

im building myself an lsvtec turbo for my eg hatch and im just gonna give a quick overview of what im using:

sleeved 84mm ls block
b16a3 head with all new oem valves/springs/retainers
type-r or ctr cams(not sure yet)
cp pistons, 9.1:1 cr
tuner toys rods
arp studs/rod bolts
ge lsvtec kit

turbo kit has yet to be planned out fully, but im workin on it

my goal is ~500hp, with intent to go higher if possible. my only questions are whats the max hp that motor *hypothetically* could handle? just wanna make sure nothing im using isnt rated for 500+ hp....thanks

if you're building a sleeved engine, i'd spend the extra money on a better set of rods. To me, those sound like the weakspot.

don't knock them unless you actually have experience with them. tons of people use TT rods for D builds. i'm sure they will be fine for 500hp. i bet they very similar to eagle.

why are you building with stock valvetrain? get aftermarked springs/retainers so you can rev.

i'm not knocking the rods at all, but if i was going to spend all that money building a sleeved block, i'd spend the extra money on a set of Manley Turbo Tuff rods instead of the base models

well my figuring was that the b16 head can already rev to 8200 and the block will be able to withstand that, which is more than stock anyways, so why push it and cause more chance for stuff to break? i might do it, idk...the head had all new stock valvetrain when i got it. and now looking into it, i might go with eagle rods because the TT ones are only rated to 500, which is what im shooting for, so no need to take the risk lol

one side question: whats the deal with b16bs? why can they rev to 10k? would it be possible/beneficial to do a b16b crank/rods in an ls block?

you can rev any b series to 10k with sleeves, rods, pistons, and valve train.
