My First Turbo

My First Turbo
Alright boost junkies I need your help. I have a 95 Honda EX stock SOHC engine. The engine has 156k on it. I want a turbocharger, but so far that is all I have figured out. Any info would be appreciated. I mean any info. I am planning on having my engine rebuilt. So if you have any info on a SOHC turbo and the internals I would appreciate hearing it. However, I don't want one person telling me to get a DOHC B-series. I don't have the money to do a swap. D16Z6's are good enough for the HP I am trying to get. I am also planning on adding 50HP shot of NOS. I don't care what you say as long as it relates to SOHC engines and/or turbo kits for this car. I think the Import people are great and they always seem willing to help others out any way they can, so I would appreciate it if you could do the same for the new guy. If you would like to IM or email me my address is civicdream119@aol.com. Thanks and Hondas kick a@@. P.S. Please no WV jokes. The only joke in WV is these kids trying race me in these Ford Probes.

Re: My First Turbo (civicdream)
Ok, I'll be the dick...
Your are going to re-build a SOHC, but you can't afford a B series ? Look into a B18B or a B16A..... prices are reasonable on these and the blocks are much beefier than a SOHC
What HP are you aiming for ? If you plan on putting a turbo, it mean you want to go fast, not sorta fast !
The kit most might tell you is the Greddy with a tiny TD025 with boost set at 5-6 psi and that waste will set you back $4000 and you will get whupped by GS-R's unless you spray.
I don't mean to offend any SOHC-T guys out there, but look at the money that may be spent here... re-build, Turbo setup, Nitrous and not to mention the ignition, fuel and tuning needed to keep this motor from going Kablooie with that 50 shot, a DOHC with a turbo might be the best and even cheeper alternative...
Otherwise, if you insist on keeping the EX motor, avoid the Greddy kit (my opinion, so **** off ) It doesn't have enough CFMs to blow out a candle. Get a T3, Head and portwork, full ignition, upgrade Fuel pump, FPR, resleeve the cyclinders, shot peen the rods, jet coat the pistons, boost like a **** and lay off the juice.
And when it blows.... upgrade to a DOHC

Re: My First Turbo (X2BOARD)
Eventhough a TD025 DOES exist the Greddy kits use TDO4 and TD05 turbos. I think you are confusing Garrett T25 and Mitsubishi TD05. A good turbine for a D16 would be a T3 with an AR.48 housing, TD04H 15C, TD05 14b, TD05H 16G or a KKK K26.
The TD025 is used on 660cc turbo cars here in Japan!
TD025 05c 2cm(2) housing Greddy PN 311212 95000jpy
