When payn sent me there base map it was super duper rich and it clogged my cat. This caused a really slow spool up. I switched to a test pipe and it made big difference in spool time and I bet you'll gain a pound or two in boost.

When you first got on the dyno did you have alot of black smoke out the exhaust?how many miles on car? how long did you drive on the base map?

i had mad smoke. i straight thought my engine blew. hehe.

no smoke now.

the engine has about 4k on it. i was driving on a ks-motorsports basemap for 2 weeks maybe, never hit boost though.

i have a high flow cat. but im still running my small exhaust and the tiny sohc downpipe.

platinum.

3 inch turbo to tip, get rid of the cat, or run a 3" hi flow. Exhaust diameter absolutely makes a difference on turbo cars. Also, it should all be mandrel bent, and never reduce diameter! Keep it the same diameter all the way through.

i was thinking 2.5 inch downpipe and 3 the rest of the way. only reason i say that is i dont have room for a 3. i dont think i have room for 2.5 hehe.

so this will increase my spool time and give me power. whooaaa.

I know that it's possible to go 3" from turbine all the way back, because I have done it, and retained air conditioning (although now it's removed) You will however have to fabricate the downpipe like I did. It will not hurt you too tremendously to have the initial bend in 2.5" instead of 3" but the bigger the better. Keep in mind that you want a large pressure differential between gas inside the turbine and gas outside, this propagates flow. Ideally you would have zero pressure outside the turbine. Good luck.

no it's a RevHard kit, I run 10psi at the strip. I will not have dyno numbers until I go Hondata this winter, I will have Payn tune mine too when the time comes.
manifold pressure goes positive at 3000 at WOT, peak pressure is not reached until much much higher, I don't have an exact RPM for peak pressure. Keep in mind this is a T3/TO4e 60 trim turbo, which is a bit larger than the 18G I presume is in your kit. A friend of mine runs the Greddy kit on his GSR and it spools much quicker than mine, but mine makes up for it in the upper end.

I would get a 3" exhaust and tune it at 15lbs. With that small of a turbo it should be fine at a bar.
