Mustang Dyno numbers...TurboLS
i went to the mustand dyno this mornin with my turbo LS hatch and was able to pull a 231 hp run at 10 psi...i was just curious what that might equate to on a dynojet dyno because i heard that the mustang dynos rate on the conservative side..i was told that i was hittin around 290 hp at the crank..so any help would b appreciated..thx

I dyno'd at 235whp and 214lb ft on a mustand dyno @ 10.5psi 12:1 a/f, was getting detonation at 12.5 with the microphone, made same power at 12:1 anyways.

Why such low tq numbers?? what turbo/manifold/dp are you running? my roomates d16 made the same tq as you!

I only made 226whp and 160 ft lbs of tq with 9.5psi....
I know it seems low but my buddy also only made 175whp with 4.5psi on the same dyno (same set-up b16 + t3t4 intercooled)....my a/f ratio was at 12.0

Can anyone confirm this ?
I did 344 whp / 250 wtq with a GSR at 15 PSI on a Mustang Dyno. so 344 x 1.15 = 395 whp . That seems a little high.
Oh, my trap speed was 117.7 mph on street tires.

Gitwidit also made more torque than my car did with a d16.
I think the reason my numbers were pretty low is becasue of the t04b, and also the fact that my compression is only ~8.8 : 1

Doesn't this depend on the dyno operator by how much he decide to correct the torque ?
Cuz my 310whp x 15% = 356whp x drivetrain lost of 15% = 409 crank HP and running 12.39 would be pretty lame with all this power. And even if it's fun to know how much power we have, a dyno is for tuning an engine. Our car will be as fast as they ran, no matter what the dyno says.

I'd like to know more about that.

Re: Mustang Dyno numbers...TurboLS (meanteg)
It's hard to give a set correction factor, because some dyno operators will calibrate the dyno to produce dynojet-like figures (ie higher). They do this to please the majority of the public who are just concerned with higher numbers, and understandably a number that they can more easily compare and contrast with others.
Myself, I wouldn't give a crap about the numbers, as long as the tuning was spot on and the car was running good. Numbers are just something to put in your sig
