my down2turbo turbo is fucked!!!
first state fired up my car with a down2turbo ebay t3 60 trim turbo....
with less than a mile on the freshly built engine... they heard a screeching noise and didn't know what it was and drove it back into the shop....
upon looking at the turbo, the shaft completely wobbles while SPINNING!!!
******* shitty turbos

dam sounds like to me they didnt run the oil right . or turbo didnt have enough oil to start on.. becuase they should have checked if there was shaft play before they installed it.

Re: (turboda6)
It does sound like thats the case - new setup, unused turbo. My guess you didn't prime the turbo by cranking it over until the turbo was definately filled. Even at low engine rpm's the turbo shaft is still spinning - they aren't exempt from the metal-on-metal rules motors are.

for everyone calling me a turbo noob...
first off this was done by a very reputable shop, who definately primed the turbo when they were cranking the car
I just did a search and found others that had down2turbo turbos go bad on them...
I guess I'm a noob since I had a turbo kit on my car for two years before this build

Does it still fall within the 90 warranty? I had a down2turbo take a dump on me last week. It started smoking really bad one day, i checked the shaft and found that it had become soo loose that the blades came into contact with the comp housing. It lasted me 3 months and no more than 3500 miles. My oil feed and oil drain are sitting pretty, i had taken every precaution while installing my turbo to make sure that it would not be due to an oiling prob. I even ran a ATP oil restrictor and all that bs. Ive heard that some people have had very good luck with MJM turbos, with a few receiving shitty ones.
oh well.... what can you do, right? time to upgrade.
my only prob is that my turbo is well out of the 90 day warranty.

unfortunately, i bought this a year ago and finally got it in...
i may just go with a precision sc32 or sc50 but now i will have spent over a 1000 to get a turbo running

no anger issues. jus dont see why he 1. wasted a good turbo with his noobness. and 2. used a ebay turbo on the fully built setup. i woulda used a turbonetics or something with name behind it.

No, I know where you're coming from - it was just unnecessary, that's all.

Didn't know that, sorry for the shitty luck
Do it right this time
Just look into a T3/T4 .57 trim, .63 A/R or something.
