is my car detnotating????
ok , this just randomly started and i dont know how to fix it.....it doesnt happen in first but in second and on...when i hit about 6500 it starts popping and hesitating. i dont know what it is so i was guessing denotation . also my a/f is reading around 10.4 at WOT . is that lean????i tried retarding my cam timing 3 degrees and that didnt help , dont know what to do!!!!!
next time that happens check the spark plugs right away. look for silver or white discoloration in the area around the electrode. but since you're running rich, it's probably misfires so you're ok.

I'm having the same problem at the moment.
The car was running fine, and then outta the blue it started stumbling whenever i hit full boost or got near full boost. The RPM's wron't rise at all, and the car just starts jerking back and forth when on the gas.
It does this off and on, sometimes the car runs fine and other times it doesn't
.
I have my plugs gapped at .030. They didn't show any signs of leaning or detonation, but they did show up a little black.....rich.
Anyone else have this problem?

What do you guys have as far as ignition system. It seems a problem with spark. Cylinder pressures are a lot higher under full boost and with all that fuel its hard for a stock system to keep up. Especially if you run rich with race gas, what about an incompelte burn, thats rich right. Maybe the stock ignition system is being over worked. Try upgrading it.
I'm running stock ignition at the moment.
But the thing is, the car was running fine for more than a week, and then it just started doing its odd thing. The other odd thing is, it doesn't do it all the time.
I'm thinking about gapping the plugs to around .028 or .026 and I'll see what that does......

You're supposed to retard your ignition timing, return your cam timing to stock. That has nothing to do with detonation, it's ignition timing. Get a timing light and a Helms or Haynes manual and back up your timing at the distributor 2 degrees from stock.
I don't know why you're running octane booster. Just run 91 octane for less than 9-10 psi. Get some BKR6E's or 7E's, gapped at .030", no more no less.
Are you running the blue box? if so, check your fuel pressure @ idle with the vac. hose off. If it's more than 42 psi, lower it to about 39-40 or so @ idle. check your fuel filter, replace if needed. Run some injector cleaner or fuel system cleaner in the tank to clean things out. There's a lot of things that could be going on.

ya dood my plugs were fucked royaly....they all good now . i just need a boost controller and some other goodies and ill be stoppin by the dyno.
i was having cooling system problems too , ive learned my lesson to never go to autozone for thermostats , they sold me 2 bad ones , and the third would stick randomly....honda thermostat+honda coolant+coolant flush= perfect cooling system
