My car is backfiring I think how can i fix it
Okay I installed a Greddy td05 in my 97 GSR. It seemed fine for the first week. I just got my car back today from the paint shop and i'm noticing some putt putt sounds from my exhaust and my idle is dropping to 4oorpmthen jumping back to 1000rpm and then back to 700 and stays there but after a while of idling the car starts to shake a little and then just the putt putt puttt from the exhaust. i had installed a better fuel pump and using the greddy blue box with injectors. also have a field V-tec controller but i haven't changed the settings. What can i do to fix this problem?

Like most people with the blue box, you're probably running really rich. Try and lean out your fuel around 1-3k rpm's by a few percentage points and see if that helps any? How does it drive under full throttle? Shooting any smoke?

my friend told me that it had black smoke when i gassed it but that about it.
Will running toc rich hurt my motor?

Yea black smoke is running too rich. It won't hurt the motor, somethings will just be that your spark plugs will foul out faster, loose a little power, and get bad gas mileage.
