My baseline dyno graph...view it...
GReddy TD05H-18g with FMIC @5psi
GReddy blue box FCU w/ 310cc injectors
Stock exhaust/cat...etc.
Action Stage 2KS clutch
91 Octane gas
The green line is with stock timing and the red and blue lines are with timing at 12 degrees.
The person that dyno'd my car said my car was detonating so he retarded the timing. I don't know how he got the a/f ratio since there was no sniffer used...besides the fact that I saw him clip some wires onto the spark plug wires.
I had the idea that the GReddy blue box was made to run rich...so I'm kinda lost as what to expect. I guess I'll check my plugs later tonight.

Get a decent exhaust on there! Not bad numbers though I can't see major detonation there myself? You running 1stage colder spark plugs????

He had no a/f sniffer and it still produced an a/f chart? He must've 'borrowed' that from another dyno plot.
The typical a/f curve with the Greddy blue box looks like this:

not bad, but it really makes me wonder about the air fuel curve with no sniffer? maybe he just put it on from another graph to try and look cool

My timing is at 12 degrees...should I go back to the stock timing since the "tuner" said I was pinging pretty bad so he retarded the timing...
Thanks for the responses.
Edit: I'm running NGK BKR7E's @ .030

1.5 deg retard per lb of boost. 5x 1.5= 8 deg. Stock timing at idle is 16 deg BTDC. Sounds like it's in the realm of OK, I wouldn't touch it.
Those numbers suck though. I ran 161 to the wheels with a NA B18C1 on stock cams. I would suggest Hondata stage 2, MSD BTM(?), or Apexi Unit- something so you could adjust the timing under boost- and get an intercooler.

Now since I have the same exact setup I wonder what im putting down. My timing is still stock, so im wondering the thump I feel sometimes is detonation or what. I guess I should get one done this week.
How much did all 3 runs cost?? Just so I have an Idea.
good numbers tho, once you get a new clutch, Hondata and a full exhaust youll improve a lot, this is what Im planning to do also!! I need $$

Just wait to you get an exhaust!! Do you even have the stock cat in there ?? That may be the cause of the detonation.

Your running stock exhaust? Once you get an aftermarket exhaust + no cat, you'll free up a good 20-30 whp.
With the Greddy kit, usually at 5 psi people are making around 190-200 wheel hsp.

Re: My baseline dyno graph...view it... (4 Stroke)
be careful with getting the boost up... I did everything by the book... ran all the wires the right way... use Mobil 1... dont get on it too much... had it at 6.5 psi and 12 degrees... then I put it at 8.5-9psi with the Profec B at 10 degrees and ran that for about a week and a half... ran a 13.5@ 105 like that... now my car sits at home... waiting for my pistons and rods to come in.. since I now have low compression on the 4th cylinder... this time Im not waisting my time.. going with Hondata or EMS... I dont quite trust manual timing changes on 99-00 Si's...
just in case you wonder.. here is the current setup...
Greddy Kit..
Type 24 Intercooler
01 Type R Cams
timing at 10 degrees
current compression: 195-200 1-3 4th 125psi
Doesn't it EVER make you wonder why the kit doesn't specify any changes in the timing?
99 Civic Si-T
under REconstruction...

Bump...
So I should be okay with timing at 12 degrees? Also, I'm using 91 octane since that's what us Cali people get.
