Default MSD Programmable Timing Computer P/N 8981

Any one ever use this? I got it off of my buddy for $50 brand new still in the box. I figured it would be nice to have with boost since it has high speed ignition retard. Instructions says it can only be used with a 6,7, and 8 series ignition. I have a SCI. Think it'll work still?

The SCI is a 6-series ignition. (Hence PN 6350) But, the SCI already has RPM-based retard built into it. The programmable timing computer gives you a little more control over the curve, but it is still flawed for FI applications for two reasons:

1) You need an ignition curve that is both RPM and boost dependant. For this you need a BTM.

2) Capacitive discharge really doesn't work well with FI, IME.
