crane/msd ignition question w/ vafc hack.
hi,
i did some research on ignition controls. correct me if i'm wrong but this is what i'm understanding. are msd and crane ignition controllers very large coils with timing adjustability? also, i saw a timing controller from crane that retard/advances timing depending on boost. one question is, since the ignition control reads off the map sensor and the vafc hack counter acts it to "fool" the ecu from reading boost, how can this work? thanx to ya'll for your help and patience.

The ignition boxes such as the MSD 6A are seperate from the coil. They can use the stock or and external coil. They do not add any timing adjustability, unless you specifically buy one that has that extra feature.
It's hard to put into words, but the boost retard units work. Don't sweat it!

can you tell me which one has all the features? coil, timing, boost timing, etc? so what does an msd 6a do? thanx
