Re: motor mounts?! (austrian ITR)
Usually people put on stiffer motor mounts to keep their engine from twisting as much in the engine bay. I think that it's suppose to put more torque to the pavement. Also with big horsepower, the engine will twist more in the engine bay and the header will pull slightly off the exhaust pipe connection causeing a funny noise. SCC's supercharged Si had this problem.
Unless you drag race or you have a really built engine and the header wants to pull away from the exhaust, I wouldn't get them. They aren't very streetable because they make the car vibrate much more because they transfer all the engine vibrations into the chassis instead of absorbing them. But that depends on the person, some might not mind.

ES makes poly inserts.
Here's another option. You can modify your own. I just fixed my torque mounts with 3M's window weld. I just put the mounts back on yesterday so I don't know how long this mod will last. Here are a few pics:

I'm going to make a how too page soon.
One reason why you want to upgrade the mounts is to limit the engine's movement. If the engine moves too much, you end up with a rubberband effect. You sept on the gas, the motor twists, then the car starts moving. With firmer mounts, the motor will not move as much, if at all. This will lead to more positive launches. Also, the shifter doesn't move around as much.
One word of caution, stiff motor mounts transmitt vibrations a lot more than the originals! My modification has show noticalbe improvements with only a slight addition to vibration.

Re: motor mounts?! (civicgsr)
I have the ES inserts. I guess I was wondering if there was anyway to stregthen up the actual mount? And if this would be helpful?

HASport makes a solid rear motor mount that works really well. My engine barley moves at all even when it is held up on the 2 step.
