Turbo trim help
Would it be okay to use an HKS GT3540 Turbo on a B18C5 block with 9.1:1cr..or is the turbo too big (too much turbo-lag). Also would moving to a smaller turbo HKS GT3237 be sufficient in producing 500-550 whp?
umm the GT turbos are made by Garrett for HKS..these are HKS' ball bearing lines of turbos
i honestly have no clue as to what the numbers mean..just know that the larger the size..the more flowing characteristics and larger the trim size of the compressor

i own a gt2510, plus im good friends with hks, so i have specs on the turbos
your looking for max power of about 400-500 hp right, soo let me see
that would be
turbo theres 3 different compressor trim levels
gt3037(420hp)-48
gt3037(440hp)-52
gt3037(470hp)-56
turbo has 2 different trim levels
gt3037s(450hp)-52
gt3037s(480hp)-56
turbo only has one trim level
gt3040(500hp)-50
turbo only has one trim level
gt3240(580hp)-54
all these numbers are turbo specs, there are other turbos in this list but i was goin for the highest power cause thats what you asked for. you should factor in that the car makes a certain amount of horsepower, but its not going to superceed the turbo.
