you should also look into sleeving your block

Plans on port and polishing a d16z6, need some help on internals for 12 lbs. of boost and a 100 shot of laughing gas. Any help appreciated.
i built my sohc back in the day and it was turbo/nos but if thats what you want to do your gonna have to sleeve your block and get after market rods and piston. if you are going with that setup then do it all. if you just do the bottom end then youll have problems with the head. trust thats what i did and my valves melted so i had to pay twice the money on labor. if you do the bottom the head will already be off so do both the same time.
that is a great package but for what he's doing he should get some stronger pistons and stronger rods then supra pistons and b16 rods....
What?
That's right... I didn't think so...

i say, forget the NOS idea. youre bringing in two diff things the engine has to deal with in the fuel management dept. its already complicated enough to tune a properly fueled high boost turbo system and when you add NOS, there is more fuel tuning you have to do.
How about concentrating on building an All turbo setup. You dont need NOS when you can just turn up the boost, and its much easier to deal with.

Well, since you have the answers, how about you come up with a rod/ piston/ ring package that'll handle 22 PSI for under $500 shipped.
What?

if money is a issue boost on stock internals...[Modified by 98civicEX, 5:26 PM 10/23/2002]
and this brings up the entire high compression vs low compression discussion again. turbopanda's set-up will give you like 8.2:1 or something around that....why not keep stock internals and boost 12psi all day long...i know there are PLENTY of people who boosted their d16's on stock internals......
I bought that hybrid piston and rod combo and with the hondata and a great nice guy who can tune hondata for me, hell 12 psi are gonna be daily driven boost.....
Im shooting for 22psi with hondata and other secret stuff...
** EDIT **
No nitrous either, that's just another variable open to possible damage.

i recommend u get some stronger rods, and low compression pistons, w/ total seal piston rings. Have the rods shot peened. I have stock rods and pistons on my D16Y7/8, and i run 10psi all day long. (ported head w/ 5 angle valve job, thicker head gasket) My piston rings are starting to go tho, because i get an awful burning oil smell when i boost. So...HIGHLY recommend those pistons/rods.
alberto, what about your SI? u gonna leave it stock?
Yes, the Si stays stock, that will be the daily driver, that was modified before, I'll leave it alone for nice long trips.
