I am build a d16 turbo and i was wounder why you need to have the missing link. I know that it keeps you from throwing a check engin code but will it hurt the motor with out it?

 

The stock ecu does not have tables for boost. So when the map senses boost it immediately goes into limp mode. The missing link bleeds boost from getting to the map so it doesn't go into limp mode.
