Default Minimizing your gauges/electronics

I read most of the topics on gauges. I am about to nearly complete my turbo project soon. With boost and EGT gauges being the most important, these are the two I am going with. I am trying to minimize the gauges and other electronics and was wondering if this seems like a good setup for someone on tight budget.

1) Blitz DTT DC II (warning boost gauge and turbo timer)
2) Greddy EGT gauge
3) Manual boost controller

Let me know if these will work good. I would like to have the profec B, but if i have to go with AEM EMS, it will be useless. Other suggestions are welcome

looks fine to me. i use my avc-r as a boost gauge. it reads the engine RPM dead on, so i would think that the boost reading is pretty accurate too.

the most important resource ive had is a techedge wideband o2

Not too much more expensive than a decent EGT, and much more useful.

Sounds pretty solid for choices. Just a side note, EGT gauges are nice for viewing under boost but I dont ever tune off of them. Technically you dont even need them, but its nice to watch the gauge for extended periods of boosting.

I'm going to be running the Greddy Electronic Warning Boost and EGT guage on my setup. I'm getting the black face and doing a custom backlight. Amber to match my guage cluster. Anywho, I was told that those two are the most important. All the ofther stuff is going to be read off my laptop from my EMS.

Those guages seem ok to me. I really like my apex egt p/h with playback....tuning should really be used with a wideband like stated above.

If your going with the EMS, which i highly recemmend, you could save money on the egt and use aem's egt probe that connects directly to the ems....only thing is that its big and ugly. Also no need for boost controller, just use the gm solonoid. Also the biggie is you can use aem's new wideband. Its dirt cheap, has readily available and cheaper sensors, and has aem's quality and servicable parts---although display wont be available for another 6 months it should not be an issue.

So I can use my EMS to control boost as well as monitor boost, EGT, AFR and Im assuming all the stock sensor stuff like Oil pressure/temp and water temp etc. Can I set it up so It will flash a CEL if any of these sensors exceeds a safe paramater?

Seriously, do I even need gauges? lol
EMS - the end all, be all to "minimizing your gauges/electronics"

I sold my boost guage since you dont need them if you have a boost controller which displays boost. AVCR, Blitz are good for this.
