most important gauges...
will i need a boost gauge if i have an electronic boost controller eg. greddy profec a? also, what three gauges would be the most vital into maintaining a turbo setup?
1) boost 2) oil pressure 3) exhaust gas temp... i've been told a/f gauges are just pretty to look at. which do you think are the 3 i "need." thanks

unless you get a wideband, which you have to change out every 1000 miles. go with the greddy egt gauge, its some good stuff

Re: most important gauges... (blufke)
i would skip air fuel meter and get oilpressure, elektronic fuelpressure, boost, EGT and something that monitors knock. Than you home free.
Maybe an oiltemp too

Do the FJO, it responds faster than the Motec PLM anyway, I've used both and definitely prefer the FJO Wideband. Pick up the datalogging software and the display and you will never regret it!

i think a narrowband a/f gauge is ok for the amount paid, until i have more money for a wideband. You CANT tune with it but at least it lets you know to let off the pedal youre running lean, eg. if fuel pressure drops.
EGT gauges are not that great and i wouldnt consider them a tuning device either, there are many variables that affect it, for example advanced timing makes the temps lower, so you might think youre ok when in reality you are leaning out. retarding timing will make temps higher so you'd think you need more fuel and really just run really rich. cam profile, cam timing also affects the temps
