To make a long story short, tried the SMC on my gfs 93 del sol si(d16z6)...didnt work. Tried Uberchip, Didnt work. The car repeadedly runs rich, to the point where it wont even start, always throws code 43(fuel system), and Im just getting fed up. Injectors tested within .5 ohm of eachother, and so did the injector wires.
I decided to try the VAFC hack, and upon browsing the installation instructions, I find that the SMC diagram and the VAFC diagram conflict.
The SMC says that the MAP wire is the same as one of the VAFC VTEC wires. WTF? HELP ME, IM GOING INSANE...

i believe you're not supposed to use the SMC together w/ the VAFC
the SMC MAP is different the the AFC MAP on the wiring diagrams. they should be the same...this is why I need a true diagram for the car, because I dont know which diagram to believe...

hmm...that could be why the smc didnt work on my gfs car, because the MAP wire was in the wrong spot. i will go try everything exactly to plan...thanx guys

Have you ever had a missing link or check valve setup on the MAP sensor? Check to make sure you put the O-ring back on under the map sensor when you re-installed it. If not, that's probably the source of your problems. Vacuum leak, and the MAP sensor doesn't know what to do.
I had this same problem, car ran super rich, idle surged, it had no power and I kept fouling plugs and fouling my O2 sensor (code 43 usually means fouled O2 sensor). Turns out when I took my check valves off I forgot to put the O-ring back on under there, and I fought with the car for like 2 months trying to figure it out.
Worth a shot.

i did a search, and found your previous threads before I posted...I will re-check, maybe it was torn or something....
That and make sure your map sensor is good and the little nipple on it is not plugged, and the connection on the throttle body isn't plugged either.

k i flipped out and kicked the ******. now I need a new front end.
checked map, GOOD.
rewired afc, NOTHING CHANGED.
turned afc all the way down, -50. nothing changed.
PLUGS STILL SOAKED WITH FUEL(tried cleaning with torch, new plugs too, still nothing)
as far as I know, they are dsm 450s.
i tried 3 chips....JET, Uber(gsr), Uber(d16), neither fires.
I have spark, it wants to fire, but it wont catch. Im seriously pissed off

Cody, try going back to stock injectors just for the sake of it. if it fires on stock injectors and stock ecu, then it could possibly be the injectors your using aren't sealing, and just dumping fuel into the motor. Have they been flowed/checked out? maybe try them on a dsm known to run good? Sounds as if everything else is correct....

Im going to put stock injectors back in(out of my brothers 89 civic, so I dont have to undo the resistors) just so I can move del sol so taht I can test-drive my brothers car. If that works, i will try another set of DSMs. this means I will have to go buy ANOTHER 2 sets for my engine becuase I had to use 1 of my 2 to replace HIS bad set. you confused yet? try being me...oh ya, ill be running 8 dsms in my build up, that may help clear some confustion...
It really sounds to me cody that you have a leaky set of injectors. Pump primes, and the injectors don't close all the way afterwards. Also, may want to look at your fuel pressure when you prime, and don't start afterwards, see if the pressure slowly or quickly goes down, if it doesn't hold pressure, then obviously the injectors are leaking.
Cody, if you are using a chipped ECU with the AFC, did you try cutting the jumper wire on J1 and then messing with the AFC?

j1 is by the eeprom correct? If so, then there is no wire going into/out of j1. Did JET even chip the friggen ECU?

ok i was just freaking out. I got it started on the stock injectors and verified that the afc hack works. i had it set at -50 for the 450s, and i wasnt getting any gas to the stock injectors. I put it back to 0, and fired right up, perfect idle, everything. Of course I didnt drive the car because of stock injectors, but I have 1 set of DSMs to try. If those dont work, we are back to FMU
looks like Joe(graphiteaccord) was right, the 450s were constantly dumping fuel into the cylinders, obviously not letting any spark light...
where can i get my other 4 sets of DSMs cleaned, rebuilt???

my final set of 450s worked! car runs great, no bogging, actually hits 2psi in nuetral
she will use the BOV as her horn now because she doesnt have a horn. Still have CEL 43, but the car runs great, so no complaints. Im assuming the 02 sensor is pretty much toast from the constant flow of straight fuel through it...
thanx all for the help...
