methanol injection users, question about temps
Quick question for you guys running methanol injection, im running 35/65 meth/water on a 2gph nozzle with my JRSC setup. What im noticing is that the temps stay relatively low and then when i go WOT the temps rise rapidly, from 130 degrees to about 180 degrees, depending on how long WOT is held, and then rapidly drops in temp after you let off the throttle.
Now heres my biggest question, im wondering if it has anything to do with the nozzle position. I have it setup as pictured...
Now im wondering that because the nozzle is spraying straight down that it is puddling rather then fogging in the intake. Which isnt really getting into the system under WOT as much as required, and more then enough anywhere else after WOT runs which causes the temp to drop rapidly.

Re: methanol injection users, question about temps
mine is about 12-18" from throtle body and i run the aem kit with the small nozzle. seems to me that you have the nozzle to close. The rise in temp is likely just the heat from compressing air or being in boost IMO.

well the S tube is about 12" long after the throttle body, then it has to go through the blower, and then through the intake manifold, so its a pretty long run. Theres no bogging starting at 5psi with a small nozzle, and i think the range that i use it is good enough for it being a non progressive setup, just wondering if im spraying enough.

Re: methanol injection users, question about temps
I started with the small AEM nozzle, and got some heat reduction, stepped up to the medium and it was better. Went for broke and threw in the 550cc nozzle and got my best temp reduction. Each time you step up to a bigger nozzle, you need to re-tune. You'll need to lean it out some and advance your ignition timing to counteract the extra fuel (methanol) and the water.
