I have the maxrev BOV (see sig). Does anyone have a soundclip of it? I feel like I'm getting a little compressor surge as opposed to a clean blow-off ( no pun intended ). It sounded okay on the dyno, but on the highway it sounds weird. I know that all BOV brands have unique sounds, but I would think it should be a clean "woosh," not a chatter....

man. ive been readin alot of bad on max rev blow offs.. if u want a loud woosshhh!!! id suggest the turbo xs or greddy type S is nice. i got a type S for sale. $160 shipped i also got a blitz DD thats loud too.. $195 shipped.

 

u might try cleaning the piston&cylinder assembly on the bov.....makes for smoother operation.

 

Two days ago, I unscrewed the cap of the BOV about 1/2 way so the spring will have less tension and now I get a cleaner sound. It's funny, but it sounds like a hyena. Someone had mentioned to oil the piston with some WD40....didn't try it though.
