Maxrev BOV is garbage
I started up my car today, and surprisingly it fired up on the first try (aem ems with 450cc's, with the maxrev turbo kit.) but I had a problem bringing my idle down. I tried everything I could with teh aem, but nothing brought it below 2200. I thought maybe I had a leak between my injectors, 'cause when I wore away some of the rubber bushing, I thought I put a gap netween the injector & grommet, but that checked out, everything was sealed up there. I then thought that maybe it was the bov, cause it does lack a diaphragm, and guess what, that's the prob. I took off the vac. line and plugged it, and the revs were somewhat normal (ecu still needs to be tuned) at idle.
I don't understand how that bov could go to the market like that. Does anyone out there have this valve working? I can't see anyone having a good maxrev valve, if its built like this. I can't wait til I get my HKS bov.

I've never heard of probs with it. Your description of the problem is hard to understand, but I think I get the idea. Did you adjust the tension?

The BOV sits infront of the TB.....how does it affect Idle??

The bov is actuated by a vacuum line off the intake manifold. I guess the bov wasn't sealing the vacuum line properly and he was getting a leak there.

ya, that's the problem. The bov doesen't seal the mani from the atmosphere. I can connect a tube from the bov and easily suck in air with my mouth through the bov.
Idle isn't really a problem, it just revs higher then normal. Its actually steadier with the leak then it is with the ems alone!
