Maximum boost with wastegate spring and boost controller...
I took apart my Tial and I thought I ordered the .65 bar but my spring is yellow which is the .45 bar I believe. I have a Hallman MBC and I just wanted to know how high I will be able to boost?

Re: Maximum boost with wastegate spring and boost controller... (BoostedSi)
can remember 14.7 or 14.5 (cuz i can't seem to remember after that debate)
14.5X.65= 9.4 psi
14.5X.45= 6.5 psi
14.5X.65= 9.4 psi
14.5X.45= 6.5 psi

Re: Maximum boost with wastegate spring and boost controller... (GZERO)
No no no..I think you are missing the question.(It was me that posted under boostedsi's name) I have a manual boost controller. I have a .45 bar tial wastegate. Now, with my manual boost contoller, can I run a gazillion psi, or does the spring limit me?? For example, the maximum a .45 bar spring could go is like 15 psi, and the maximum a .65 bar spring could go would be like 22 psi. Basically, since I have a boost controller, can I run however much boost I want or does that spring limit me to a certain amount?

Re: Maximum boost with wastegate spring and boost controller... (IntegD)
.45 bar = 6.5psi
.65 bar = 9.4psi
i believe you are limited to boost at whatever spring u are using, as the wastegate bleeds off excess boost so u don't Overboost.
Hope that helps!
Mike
p.s. someone correct me if im wrong

Re: Maximum boost with wastegate spring and boost controller... (MikeMAN)
yes, you can basically run as much boost as you want, the boost controller will 'override' the spring in the wastegate...... (at least thats how most of them work)
you just cant run any LESS boost than what your wastegate spring is rated for.
Obviously, you want to be conservative on the amout of boost you run, according to what your motor can handle.

I heard you should only boost about double what the spring can hold. Can anyone verify this statement??
Thanks
Thanks
