This may be an old question but i tried to search and couldn't find what i needed.
I'm thinking about swapping a b18A/B in to an eg. Just wondering how much boost/horsepower the stock rods/pistons/crank can handle?
I don't really want to open the block and build it cuz of a lack of $$.
Also planning on some mild head work: cams, port/polish, valves/springs/retainers if needed.
Thinking about a garret gt28rs turbo. Estimated power:200-250 at wheels???
Any help would be appreciated. Thanx. Love this board.

lots of good setups making crazy power on stock blocks. with that turbo you should make plenty more than 200whp

damn i just ansered this same exact post on another forum from this dude. he could at least change some of the text. lol

 

BONE STOCK LS and 26 psi I made 340/300. lasted for 3 weeks until the vaccum port on the wastgate came loose and spiked to 35 psi. This same motor was turbod for 3 yrs..

 

Thanx for the info everybody. I found that ls turbo thread right after I posted this one. I feel like a retard.
I just cut and pasted the same thread from that other board. I'm lazy.
