Manual boost controller vs. wastegate spring

Default Manual boost controller vs. wastegate spring

Was wondering what would be more steady... a manual boost controller or a 11.46psi spring from tial... going for 300whp... stock b16, with 50trim .63ar turbo... lmk thanks Mike

you do know that you cant turn boost lower than the rating on the wastegate spring....right??????

yeah i know you can't turn the boost lower than the wastegate spring... I was simply asking if I should buy a manual boost controller or a 11.46psi spring for my wastegate... right now I have a 7.25psi spring in there... and I was asking which would hold steadier....

The manual boost controller will be a little more steady than just off the spring for really low boost like that. just rock the spring you have for now and get a bigger one when you want more than 300whp

yeah just grab an mbc. it will gove you a lot more flexibility.

everyone answered no because they are right. you cant make a spring less stiff (less boost). but you can manipulate the amount of pressure it sees, thus opening later (more boost).
