external wastegate spring ???
If you have a wastegate with a 7psi spring in it and want to run more boost, do you have to buy a new spring, or can you raise the boost by using a manual boost controller to raise the boost?

you can do it either way, MBC would be cheaper but i would get EBC (electronic boost controller) that way you can adjust settings inside the car, and better EBC will allow for several settings, gear/speed based control to improve traction or overboost protection (my favorite and it works!), plus peaknhold readings.. from what i read you shouldn't go more than double psi level so in your case i would guess no more than 14psi but i'm not too sure about that one.
