yea that was the size that was there when i bought the car. once i put the turbo i ran open downpipe and eventually got a ticket so i connected the exhaust to go to court and show that i "fixed" the exhaust leak lol but whats better, 2.5 or 3" for single cam turbo?

im looking for about 250hp

and my pockets arent really deep but im open to suggestions

With that setup and a decent ems + tuner = no problem hitting 250hp

BTW.. there wont be much of a differance between 2.5 and 3" for hp goals

So what sort of fuel control did it run before? A well-tuned 1.5 sohc non-vtec will make more power than a poorly-tuned 1.8L dohc vtec motor. If I was to guess, that would be the biggest improvement.

The problem really is your turbo size conflicting with your goals. That turbo is good for over 400whp on pump gas, you should be running no bigger than a 60trim T3 for 250whp. If you were trying for 300 or more, I'd say run a 3" exhaust and a zex/comp cam with no bigger than a 50trim t3/t04e.

My 50 trim t3/t4e ran out of breath at 320 hp.. .. He can hit his hp goal at low boost with that turbo.

But he also only has a 250whp goal, and I'd assume yours was a bone-stock D16 with internals. I've seen a couple mild b's with a 50trim do almost 400whp on pump gas. Anyways, if we're going by the name of his thread, he'd be making his sohc faster with a faster spooling turbo - assuming he keeps the 250whp goal.
