Yeah what he said lol....

I have a few options i guess...i could flip the turbo and buy a new 4 bolt DP...i could buy a new exhaust housing and change it over to 5 bolt bc i have an inline pro 5 bolt DP...i could buy an old inline pro 4-bolt mani or i could run it like it is...the turbo isnt touching the block so wear shouldnt occur but idk if i like running it THAT close to the block

Ok Justin, I just figured since I'm boosted it be nice to let that fan come on a little earlier but if you stay oem then ill just leave the oem one. Thanks

So I have to admit that I betrayed the LS-T. I cracked a sleeve about a month or so ago at 24-25psi off my EVO III 16g. Although I did beat up on a 09' ZO6 before it went kaboom! I actually went and swapped in a stock GSR motor, I know I know, but it made really good power. I put down 297.6whp and 239wtrq at 16psi on the same EVO III 16 before the headgasket blew. lol Anyhow, even though I no longer have my LS block it's crank and rods will now live in my GSR block that is soon to be sleeved, and I'll check back here because this is where all my LS love started.

hey guys
whats the weakest part of the bottom end that will go first.
pistons/rods
wondering if i could just do pistons, arp rod bolts and rev to maybe 7500+/-

make 350 to the wheels on a dd

Stock Rods are stronger than people give them credit. It would take alot to bend a rod, but people change em when they upgrade anyway because its not expensive.

i was wondering the same thing ^^^ i was thinking rods or rod bolts would be first to go. and i've always heard even for a dd. a micro polish is a safe idea. but still interested to hear an answer to that.

i heard the ls rods were slightly beefier but i guess i'm more likely to run into hot spots on my non forged pistons?

what do you guys set your valve lash at when you have aftermarket cams? Im running a set of delta 272/260 and wondering what I should set my lash at. I checked them earlyer and they were at .008in and .009ex and it sounded a little loud. So I set them at .005in .006 exhaust and now I think im gona have to reset my idle. Its now a little low

That's to tight it's idle like he'll because valves aren fully seating you should be running .006-.007 intake and .007-.008 exhaust unless the cams call fo more clearence then you use the cam company specs. If there calling for .008 intake and .009 exhaust then run that and you have to deal with the noisy rockers. I personally would run .007 intake and .008 exhaust

stock pistons is the weakest part of the bottom ends next would be rod bolts but if your not running lsv and are just running ls and keeping rpms near stock the rid bolts are fine BUT for 300 bucks just put rods in it and then you have all forged internals

thanks. I called delta today and they said to run .006in .008ex

So here I go to redo it over.....lol Good thaning Im pretty good at it and it only takes me like 10min. Longest part of the whole thing is letting the car cool down so I can do it.
