Well i wanna know about turbo on a 97 ls, stock engine
I first plan on lowering the cr with thick headgasket
Next I plan on using 5-7psi daily but 10(maybe little more in the future) for racing

My friend told me all I need is to do the thick head gasket to lower the compression and get 310 or 370cc injectors and I will be able to boost up to 10psi safely. How true is this?? Will I need anything else?

you dont need to lower compression. I run 10 psi all the time on my stock LS motor with 310's and an 8:1 disk in my FMU.

 

no need to lower compression i used to run 12psi stock motor never blew just get a little larger injectors and control them some how.

 

ok so if i get larger injectors, what else will I need, if I get 370cc will my idle be crap? will 310 handle 10psi? will I need to get a fmu(what is it?) or a new fuel pump?

 

i plan on running 13psi on my stock motor with a hondata and 550cc injectors.. u dont need to lower compression, just make sure u have enough fuel and that it is tuned right and u should be able to boost 10psi no problem..

 

definitley need a new fuel pump highly reccommend bosch with 310cci njectors.
