ls+boost or b16+boost
They are both good. Period. The only difference is your availability for your parts and resources. This thread seems to be going nowhere, fast.
I always liked my B16's for turbo street motors. They are cheap, have pretty stout stock rods, a small crank so I can beat the hell out of them without blowing them up too often.
My B16 tranny went to 125 in 4th gear, which was about where I crossed the line at.
Either motor will make as much power as I'm comfortable making on stock sleeves, so I get whichever I can get a deal on, and I can usually find someone looking to unload a B16 for relatively cheap. I once picked up a perfect B16 bottom end that someone ditched after doing an LS/V build for $300. I bought my last B16 bottom-end for $100 (had sat with water in the cylinders and rusted), and got the head for $400 (guy had f'd up the threads on the VTEC oil feed), rebuilt it, and should have it in a car shortly. Another guy that I know did basically the same thing, and it worked out great.
