LS/b16a/GSR tranny for 400-500 hp?
Just wondering which transmission people are using for a 400-500 hp car. Wondering if LS transmission is still too long for this HP or B16 tranny too short for the HP? Any advise will help, thanks!!!

depends what kind of driving you do, if strictly the track and you can rev the motor out i would say b16
if its for a street car id say gsr
if you want to be slower than everyone else i would say ls

You will have the most traction with the LS tranny, you will have the least with the B16.
When I was tuned I had an LS Tranny in my car and at full boost I pretty much dead hooked 3rd gear at 550+ hp on the street, I went to a B16 Tranny shortly after and I can spin 4th to 10k in 4th gear with under 500hp.
However the B16 Tranny pulls like a raped ape 1st thru 4th gear, I have a GSR 5th in there with the B16 Gearset and its basically the best of both worlds in my eyes.

Re: LS/b16a/GSR tranny for 400-500 hp?
it all depends on the tires/lsd traction modifications to be honest
a b16 trans with all seasons will burn through 3rd and maybe 4th, but will hook with 225/15 bfg's in 3rd/4th
gsr trans will burn 3rd and hook 4th on all seasons, and hook 3rd and up on bfgs
ls trans will try and hook 3rd and hook 4th all day on all seasons

going with the b16 should be great. worked on one of the cars with my friends and the end result with this was quite satisfactory. i am planning to go for some major upgrades in my own 92 integra. currently facing a bit of a time crunch. should be starting by next summer.
