Hey well i brought this post back from the dead. After boosting my b16 on piston rods etc i sold it a while back.

I have now bought an JDM ITR, and hope to go the boost route. Im sure many will not agree on boosting an ITR bbut really i just dont want to spend loads and loads of $$ just to gain 8whp going n/a.

Anyway im hoping to lower the Compression using a headgasket, since i made this thread years ago im sure ppl will have more experience since. Earl would always advice me on what to do and how etc

So how thick a gasket will i need to bring that ITR comp down to 9.5.1( i hope i dont have to stick a plank of wood in there to bring it down) also by how much will i need to adjust the cam timing?

Patience young jedi.

I am running a cometic .074" hg right now. I have srp pistons (10.5:1 cr, now brought down to ~9.5:1) and eagle rods. According to cometic every .020" thicker you go lowers cr by ~1/2 a pt. I made 315whp @11psi, with 4" to 3" dp and full crushed ( ) 3" exhaust WITH a cat. I also have arp headstuds. I have been running it for the last 7months or so like this. I do not drive it a lot, but I did a leakdown test about a month ago and the engine was perfect.

I will be getting a retune here shortly and shoot for 400whp. I'll let you know how it goes.
