Lowering Compression using headgasket???**resurected**
Is it possible to lower the compression down to 9.01-9.5.1 using a thicker headgasket on a b16a2 and would it be practical for around 320whp because id rather not mess with pistons and rods until next year in the meantime i can concentrate on the tuning side hondata etc, im gonna be running a t3/t4e .60 trim and hoping for around 300whp at around 15psi
If it is possible what headgasket will take me there?? anyone tried it whats your experiences??

considering the center section is re useable its not too bad..The setup works well. I used to run it. Quite a few stock motors making 350-400whp with it.

if you just run 12-13 psi on stock headgasket tuned you should be close to the same power level as 15psi with the thicker headgasket... just the tq #'s wont be there, correct?

The power loss you see going from 10.2:1 to 9:1 is not going to be as great as 2 or 3 pounds of boost.

I would be very surpised if a head gasket alone could bring it down from 10.2 to 9.. i was thinking more along the lines of 9.5:1.

A 2MM headgasket will take a B16 to 9:1 compression. A 3MM gasket will take it to 8.25:1.

from what i was told, the cometics now only drop the comp about .2 or .3 points, they used to make a 2mm gasket but don't anymore.
