Looking for opinions on OBD 0 Engine Management
What would be the best route under 400 bucks to run under 10lbs boost 91 on a CRX Si OBD 0 PM6? Some things I have seen out there:
Turbo edit - I like package deal w/chip, logger cable, ostrich, and wideband O2 sensor that I have seen on Xenochron for $ 410.00 has anyone had any good luck with this setup?
Crome
Hondata S200 cause prob couldn't afford s 300 on this budget
Would like to be able to tune it myself, not crazy about switching to OBD 1 unless significant gain... Have been searching for weeks, but haven't been able to find any deffinate answers. As a first time tuner to get turbo running what would you recommend??

Re: (93turbo16)
get a obd0 to obd1 jumper harness and obd1 dist and a obd1 p28 and get the new neptune thats getting ready to come out it will be over 400 but well worth it if you can tune it or have a local tuner

i too am running ZDYNE i got it basicly free so i couldnt say no (obviously)
but its a good choice for obd0 cars even tho some people say its out of date because it doesnt have datalogging but if you dont wish to datalog or tune yourself this would be perfect you can pick them up for around 400.00 stand alone ecu with real time!

Zdyne has :
real time
vtec control
nitrous control
among alot of other controls and features
you also dont need to be burning chips for the computer just get on the laptop and make your changes and sent the info to the ecu, thats it..

yeah spend money on a engine management system when you could downlaod BRE for free.
And it does the same thing as zyndyne and crome. And you dont have to spend 300 bucks to convert.

Re: Looking for opinions on OBD 0 Engine Management (D-meet07)
we have a few high boost d16a6's and a z6 running obd0, using the newest version of turboedit (find it on pgmfi.org)
i made 300.08 on it, at 20 psi on a stock head/cam a6 , running turboedit. i've been using turboedit on that engine, running over 20 psi, for over a year, and running 10 psi for over 2 years. its a great program, especially if your looking for a mild build, not using bigger that 450 cc injectors. it ran my 450's like they were stockers. its a bit rough on tip-in and cold starts with my bigger injectors (605's). i had 720's in it for a while this year, and cold starts were rough, idled at 10:1 AFRs. as soon as it would warm up, we had it tuned to 14.5:1, and it even broke 40 MPG's on the highway with all the injectors i've ran (DSM 450's, the 720's, and the 605's)
its a good program, but we are all considering switching to obd1, for the less-buggy, more supported programs (specifically chrome/chrome pro)

Re: Looking for opinions on OBD 0 Engine Management (splitime)
it may be free but then you need
obd0 to obd1 conversion harness
p28 ecu
need the ecu chipped
the program might be free but those harnesses ecu and the chipping can run you into some money, and you still have to keep reburing chips

TE and BRE are both obdO. Chipping those ecus is even easier than the others... one single eprom socket.
You might want to figure out what we are talking about... before making comparisons.

Re: Looking for opinions on OBD 0 Engine Management (splitime)
however what if you are looking to run vtec? i dont imagine those have supporting vtec control in them?
your right i dont know about TE but i do know the easiest way to get vtec in a non vtec motor is to swap the ecu from obd0 to obd1 and run the p28 hence the reason so many run and chip the p28.
however you could run a vtec controller but too much work in the end IMO vtec controllers could run as much as a p28 ecu making the obd0 ecu irrellivent to run. UNLESS you are running non vtec d16 non vtev b16 (why i dont know) or the non vtec b18
i could be wrong but thats just my opinion
i got my zdyne for free so i cant knock TE or anything else for that matter, but i know when i was looking into ecu chipping and conversion harnesses and all that it got up there.
but my opinion is that zdyne is pretty good for what it is. its older YES but its still a good form of eninge management.

I run vtec with my pm6 and TurboEdit. You can run it also with BRE and a vtec obd0 ecu, it even has typical dual vtec tables.
Zdyne is typically NOT free.... it's always been a purchased system... so take that into account when you recommend. You can't expect anyone else to get it for that "price".
http://www.pgmfi.org and start reading up. We've had obd0 vtec control for almost/over a year now.
"i could be wrong but thats just my opinion" - yup, you are wrong. Sorry... not being an ***.. but wrong info gets disseminated entirely too often on HT.

good info im not hip to the new forms of EMS. kinda like when you get one part you dont keep looking for that part since you already have it, i might know more if i didnt already have a form of EMS and needed one. good info tho i dont take it as you being a *** but informing soemone about other forms of ems that have cam out
always willing to learn more

i use a a PS9 ECU and turboedit on my car and i run 9 psi daily
works great and i got my AFR's all linear and i can even post a pic of my datalog screen to porve it
controls VTEC, launch control , rev limits, etc etc
and with the ostrich i do real time tunning
for OBD0, Turboedit, if you got money out of your butt, then switch to OBD1, and either go with CROME PRO, or S300

Why is this even a discussion here? With comments like this:

No one is going to get any help, and h-t will continue to perpetuate this obd1 bandwagon bullshit when it is totally unnecessary for 99% of obd0 people.
Jesus. Someone lock this thread before it sucks even more. Then go read the BRE, TE, and Crome forums over at pgmfi.org and MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION.
