looking for dyno charts and advice please
hey, i've been on this board forever, and those of you who know me KNOW i have always been an allmotor guy. so i am not too familiar with turbos. anyway, here's my plan.. i want to do a ghetto turbo kit, homemadeturbo.com style. it's going into my piece of **** EF. the turbo will be going on a 100% bone stock jdm b16 wth s1 transmission. i don't want a HUGE turbo, i don't want to hit boost real late, i am NOT looking for 300+ at the wheels. i'd be happy with 220-250whp with a real usable torque curve. i want a smaller turbo that spools quick, but one that will still rip *** in the right hands. the car is light as hell, and the gearing is short, especially when taking into consideration i have 185/60R13s on there, so it's like i have a 4.60 FD. anyway, i was thinking a straight t3, maybe a td05, maybe a t25.
honestly, the t25 seems real appealing to me, because the greddy kit for d-series civics are SO freakin' fun, imo. given the same setup on b16, with a little more boost and tuning, and the gearing... i think it would be a killer car, real fun to drive.
anyway, i'm looking for advice, and dyno charts of mild turbo kits on fairly stock motors. i don't plan on rebuilding my block..... yet. i want to see what i can do on a stock 1st gen b16, stock compression with all ghetto parts.
i plan on using an OBD1 conversion with hondata, and i don't plan on lowering my compression or changing my fuel pump.... for now. so gimme some advice, y0!
oh, and if anyone has cheap parts that would work for me, shoot me an email at hondamike12345@aol.com or hit me up on the board.
looking for turbo, manifold, intercooler, piping, bov, turbo timer, etc etc. etc. thanks!

dont' got t25, you will regret it. Smallest i would go would be a t3 60 trim .63ar. With a high revving, small motor like a b16 your need to keep your top end power. Good luck stock b16's can be fun

Re: looking for dyno charts and advice please (Mike K)
see links in my thread.
in order of my choice for a stock B16 (best streetable powerband)
*Apexi IHI BB P18 RHF5
*GT T28 .60ar
*Garrett 16G
*Garrett T28 .63ar (non-bb)
I love small turbo + vtec for street setups
FYI :
15G and t25 is about the same size.
my buddies stock b16a1 in ef with a greddy 15G kit with HKS manifold, dsm 450cc hondata (great tuner too), greddy fmic only made 215whp at 10psi with 165tq
I think you want something with a little more topend in the 235-260whp range...

Re: (leed)
edit:
Was going to suggest Greddy kit as-is. You won't get 225 WHP from it though without intercooler. With the intercooler you should be able to get there.

Re: (ccfries)
i take that back. i'd be happy with 200whp and full boost by 2500-2800rpm. also, does anyone have any experience with a subaru impreza IHI turbo? i have access to one, and i was considering it. supposedly, the guy tells me it has a slightly larger exhaust side than a t25, but other than that i have no clue what to expect.
help?
help?

Re: (Mike K)
Mike, the WRX turbo has an internal wastegate, so the exhaut side is large. You will need to run either a bellmouth(roughly 4") downpipe or a flanged downpipe with a separate wastegate dumptube(the option you would undoubtedly choose....cheaper/ghetto-***). -Greg
