Which turbo to go with to reach my goals?
What turbo should I go with? 14b? t3?
Hello I have a stock b18c1, just rebuilt to stock spec. I have about 800 miles on the motor since the rebuilt and I have been breaking in properly.
I have added Arp head studs, to insure some reliability.
Heres what it pulled up on the dyno few days ago.
Goals: I want to make 190-210whp. I want to make hp around 4,500-6,700 range. I want something that will spool up quick, Nothing to crazy. I guess I can say I'm a bitch looking for a little bitch turbo lol.
I don't care for 300+hp because I still want to drive comfortable in my car. I hope I'm being realistic here. I don't want power to fall out up top, and i don't want to be hitting boost 24/7 I drive under 3,500 85% of the time.

Gt2860 would be fine but for your goals (which is low for any turbo setup) might just build the motor na and make that much power, use nitrous, or maybe revise your power goals a slight bit

With a turbo sized for your goals anytime you accelerate you will be in boost, that's just a given. Think sr20 with a stock turbo.. boost all the time (although on my s13 coupe sr I didn't have mpg issues with being in boost a lot
You could run 300 as is with not a lot of traction issues if running good rubber and boost by gear or traction control. Plus at that power level you can pick a slightly larger turbine config and have the power how and where you want it but have a higher cruising along boost threshold
Another problem is most turbos in your desired power range will fall off uptop that's almost a given

I'd still go with the 2860r, gt28rs, etc
These would require a t25 mani (speaking of which I have a greddy t25 b series manifold that I've gasket matched and am trying to clean up the ports a bit. Shameless plug )

Why wouldn't you want more power than 200whp? These motors can easily handle 400whp. Shoot for ~250whp and your motor will last forever. gt28r or a 50 trim would do you fine.
