if you're not running an aftermarket water temp gauge, I'm not sure I'd trust the stocker.

also, are you running a thermostat? If not, that could be the cause too.

It shouldn't take long at all in this weather. I'd say your thermostat is bad.

I'll back up the guys who claim thermostat. Either missing or stuck open.

worse fuel milage, and the motor wont be able to run at the correct tolerances everything expands when it gets hot, same reason you woulndt beat on your car when its cold.

the car take awhile arond 20-30min to warm up to normal operating temp.. at 220*

But i let it warm up for 5 mins then drive it really easy till its at normal operating temp.
Is doing it the way i have been ok? or should i take affirmative action?

I drove like that with my built z6 for a few days. Like I said it hurts fuel milage considerabley. As far as harming the motor, my dad whos been a Honda mechanic for years says it will not, I was worried though (especially since my motor wasnt fully broken in, replaced everything but the thermostat... doh!) I took care of it as soon as I could. Its 2 bolts and about $15, peace of mind, and alot more money in your pocket from fuel cost. Id imagine it wont harm the motor like overheating, oil starvation, or excessive revs would, but its still not good for it, unless it was "built" to run at lower temps.

My suggestion is dont risk it, you have thousands in your setup I bet, I sure as hell wouldnt.

thanks for the advice, i'm going to take care of that soon. I figure i was killing alot of fuel just letting it idle and warm up.

220 is a bit high, 180 is good.

220 is not normal temps.

195 is when the thermostat opens. It's really not even supposed to get to 220.
