log vs equal length?
are there any actual hp gains below ~400 whp if you have an equal length manifold as oppposed to a log style manifold?
any suggestions on a reliable but cheaper log-style manifold for my b18c with no external wastegate equipment?

dsport back when it was still drag sport did a test on a 240sx if i remember right and they gained about 20 hp over the power band by switching to a equal lenght exhaust mani. the car wasnt anything to crazy. as for the external wastegate u can just get a block of flang.
Yeah i have seen 2 tests actually. The first was done by full race and the log style spooled up faster but didn't put out as much power as the equal length.
The other was a video with Jeff (BoostedHybrid) and they took his car. The first did a run with the equal length and that gave, i think, 300whp then all they did was exchange it for the log style and redynoed it and I think it only made like 275 whp.
So the gains are there, but they aren't too serious...I'd say if you plan on 350+ or even 400+ you should def get tubular/equal length
Recommendations:
Personally (biased) I love the Neukin Equal length $600
Inline pro is what i would have gotten otherwise...it's proven cast iron!
revhard ain't bad either...I'm sure there's more

Hmm, sounds good, Neukin it is. I just hope my turbo doesn't like fall off of it or something
this may be totally ignorant, but are all the honda 4cyl exhaust manifold bolt patterns exactly the same? how does the neukin fit so many applications?

The bolt pattern is the same for all B series engines. Meaning that it'll work on a b18b b18c1 b18c5 and b20

He just recently came out with A/C compatible versions and can also make you a DP

yeah, well, i'm running a 1990 crx, and im too lazy to reroute the AC, so i yanked it.
now the fun begins: figuring out if the neukin will fit with my gsr swap, and praying that a 3" DP can fit with my stock crossmember

All it took was this pic to convince me to run an equal length

If you ask me I think it is all just hype. Maybe when you get up in the high hp range like after 500 or so. My gsr with a skunk2 intake manifold stock bottomend put out 262 on 8 psi. And that was not corrected sae that was to the wheels.
